Monsanto: “Too Big for Their Britches”

Monsanto: “Too Big for Their Britches”
By State Representative Clay Pirkle (R-Ashburn)
(579 words)
One of the greatest challenges of raising kids is discerning when to give them more responsibility and when to have a “come to Jesus” meeting because they have gotten “too big for their britches.” As a cotton farmer following the Monsanto-Bayer merger, I recognize the telltale signs of a child that needs to be reined in a bit. As an economist, I see that Monsanto already exhibits monopolistic behavior, and they receive profits on virtually every bag of cotton seed sold in the U.S.
I first recall paying the “technology fee” in 1999. In that year I averaged $7.80 per acre in seed cost for conventional cotton and $33.38 per acre for the first transgenic cotton I planted, which was DPL 33B. Monsanto was quite smart in marketing its cotton, and I paid two bills for a cotton bag: one bill for cotton seed and the other for a “tech fee.” For instance, in 1999 I paid Delta Pine Land $50 per bag of genetically modified cotton and Monsanto $167 per bag. Monsanto convinced farmers to pay four times the price for cotton seed by spending less money on chemicals and producing a higher yield, and Monsanto recouped half the savings on chemicals.
This year, Monsanto received a revenue stream on every cotton acre I planted – not because I am a loyal Monsanto customer, but because there is no other option. Monsanto sets the price because they can. One of the defining characteristics of a monopoly is the ability to set prices, and Monsanto has proven their ability to do that. In fact, they set their tech fees at different rates for different regions across the country. Monsanto does not allow me to get in my truck and drive across the river to Alabama to buy cotton seed because for some reason Alabama famers pay less in “tech fees” than we do in South Georgia. I also pay more in South Georgia than I would in the Delta or High Plains regions.
Looking at a couple of my farms over the years….In 1999 I planted transgenic cotton on the Beard place, which cost $33 per acre and yielded 774 pounds of lint per acre. In the 2017 crop year I planted transgenic cotton on the same farm and yielded 667 pounds of cotton at a seed cost of $120 per acre. Anomaly? Let us look at the Barber farm in Irwinville. In 1999 I planted a conventional cotton, which cost $7.80 per acre and yielded 537 pounds of lint. On that same farm this year I planted a transgenic variety (because no conventional cotton seed is available) at a cost of $120 per acre and produced 542 pounds of lint. To summarize, I now pay 15 times more for my cotton seed than I did in 1999, and I am do not receive a measurable increase in yield. I also average five insecticide applications per year at a cost of $12 to $20 per acre. In 1999, I averaged less than $10 per acre for all insecticide applications (18 percent of my cotton acres in 1999 were BT transgenic cotton, such as insecticide producing cotton plant).
Monsanto now receives all of my cotton profits. They look like a monopoly, they price like a monopoly and they ruthlessly protect their patent rights to keep their monopoly. We need a “come to Jesus” meeting with Monsanto to stop this huge merger because they have definitely gotten “too big for their britches.”
Representative Clay Pirkle represents the citizens of District 155, which includes all of Ben Hill, Irwin, and Turner counties, and portions of Tift and Coffee counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2015, and currently serves as Secretary on the State Properties Committee. He also serves on the Motor Vehicles, Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, and Science & Technology committees.
Joyce Barrett’s response to Women’s March

Response : County residents attend Women’s March
I am terribly saddened by the view of America expressed by these women who were quoted in this article. It is not the same American in which I, and all the women in my family, live.
Or, their perception is terribly skewed. Perhaps by personal events, but I think it may be the fodder being fed by those instilling notions of sexism, racism, societalism, or any feeling which can marginalize you, our Republic, and government leaders they do not agree with.
The first misconception made was “The site of the inauguration. Trash was everywhere and a post-apocalyptic feel of the city depressed us.” This is a statement from the Nation Park Service on Sunday after both events. ” This time around, officials say, visitors were tidier than prior years. Linroth says so far, the cleanup is going well. Fortunately a lot of people, even though the trash cans were full, have stacked the trash neatly as close to the trash cans as they could get them, so that is making our job easier.”
Could you be referring to the debris left by rioters, looters and anarchists there to disrupt the right of Democracy-at-work and a peaceful transition of powers ?
You say you marched for:
1. Civil rights and social justice for all: Our laws already protect your civil rights and justice for all.
Exert these rights anytime you choose. Take personal responsibility and teach your young women (and men) to do the same.
2. Women’s rights, all of them: Exactly what right do you not have ? Or are you speaking of free “stuff” you want me to pay for ?
3. The right to choose: I assume you mean abortion . You are responsible to make and obtain your own choices. I don’t ask you to pay for my choices and I do not want to pay for yours. You want an abortion ? There are many clinics in Georgia where you can get one. You do not have the right to make me pay for your abortion !
4. The right to be yourself, equal and unmolested. Again, your responsibility. Dress anyway you want, blue hair, nose rings, be a trash collector or a doctor. Who stops you? Equal ? Our Constitution and our laws guarantee that. Unmolested. Your responsibility to stay safe or call a Policeman.
5. You want your daughters to have opportunities because they are capable and not beautiful ? Not a right. A personal responsibility. Teach them respect, integrity, good work ethics, kindness, cleanliness and they will succeed .
6. The marginalized, for you are one; Again, so sad, that you feel insignificant. And again, not the government’s responsibility but yours. Stop feeding on the fodder.
7. The right to work outside the home and to receive birth control. Are you kidding ? Women were enlisted to work outside the home in WW11 when men were serving at war. My great grandmother was a nurse years before that. You have never known a time when women didn’t have this right. Buy your own birth control from any doctor or drugstore. Personal responsibility.
8. Full equality in employment: EEO, heard of it ? Equal employment opportunity. Your responsibility.
9. Misogyny (hatred of women): More fodder from the left. Women are in the government, military, business, entertainment and sports. Please do not ruin your daughter’s life by filling her head with this nonsense !
10. Racism, homophobia, anti-Semitism: Personal problems of prejudice. Government cannot make someone not harbor these feelings. You may try to change that on a one-on-one basis if you wish. Behavior sometimes can change a prejudice. Sounds like all of you may harbor prejudices. And know that “racists” is too often used by anyone of any race to chide a person who doesn’t agree with them. More fodder.
11. Xenophobia ( unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners) ; The number one job of our Government is to keep its citizens safe. President Trump, and millions of citizens, feel that unauthorized foreigners threaten our safety. Note, he speaks of UNAUTHORIZED foreigners. More of the fodder !
12. ATROCITIES BEING REVISITED BY THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION: The most egregious statement made : What in the world are you referring to ? Please give us one example. I do not believe you can name a single atrocity (assuming you know the meaning of the word)
You ladies will better serve yourselves and your daughters by teaching them personal responsibility, to think for themselves, to look for the best in people and the world, to educate yourself on the history of America and our Constitution, to study the ruination by socialist governments, and lastly, to understand that the government is not your nanny and banker. As Pres. Kennedy said, “Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for your Country.”
My daughter, 3 daughters-in-law, and 4 young adult granddaughters have never experienced or seen the America these ladies describe. We have chosen our own paths, and rejoiced in our successes. We never felt repressed by any law or man. We rejoice in our God given rights and love America. I wish this joy for all you ladies.

Short Takes, The Dangerous Republican’s
Opinion July 18, 2017The Republican Party’s “elites’ have dropped all pretense of conservative reliability and are not to be trusted any more. Paul Ryan, the once reluctant candidate for Speaker of the House, speaks with a forked tongue about conservatism, drags his feet on conservative bills submitted by the Freedom Forum members (tea party conservatives), and continues obstructing as he can, Trumps initiatives. He survives by creating “issues.”
In the Senate, Mitch McConnell predicts the Republicans will just have to join with Democrats to get any bill passed. No, No, No, never! It’s not needed and will only serve to embolden the already moribund and near death Democrats looking for some excuse to be relevant. Chuck Schumer is a shill only looking for a single payer health plan. Never! The very thought of reaching out to Democrats on this issue, is anathema to the conservative base that could start an internal war, but certainly will precipitate the death of the GOP as we know it today, feckless, insecure, frightened, inarticulate and incompetent to meet America’s needs.
But, we’ve known this for years. For the past eight years Republicans, in unison, promised to repeal Obamacare. Now, they won’t even drop the onerous mandated taxes the Democrats imposed upon us in the AHCA. They’re living in a make believe “La La land of their own construction, hoping the problem will go away, and don’t even see the coming disaster. The problem will not go away. I’m here, as are thousands of others ready to keep the problem front and center. The GOP even produced a pretty good replacement plan in 2015, but did so secure in the knowledge the Commie in the White House would veto it, which he did! The sighs of relief could be heard everywhere in the “beltway” except, not in middle America.
A fire is lit and the simmering pot of outrage is coming to a boil and the establishment Republicans will pay. It’s not Democrats who will replace them in upcoming elections, it’s the tea party conservatives, the New Republicans, The New Constitutional Party, or what ever title you may wish to give ‘em, the old elite GOP order, just like the Democrats, will soon be swept away. As a small reminder, remember how Jeb Bush simply disappeared? Keep that vision in mind. With the GOP demise, the unintended chain of events that will follow will be terrible to behold.
The Federal Reserve will be reorganized, if not done away with. The Council on Foreign Relations will be in panic and their international machinations for a one world order will suffer, but, don’t count them out. International banking will return to a gold standard; Germany will rearm and have another go at Russia and everybody will stand around wondering what to do, humanly, with the remnants of the 3rd century muslims caliphate cluttering up the Western worlds cities. We will always be fighting Islam. Just joking about Germany.
Today, eight months after 08 November 2016, DC’s shocked political elites are still shocked and ranging about for meaning and purpose to their lives, wondering how to get their mojo back and how to displace America’s new CEO Donald Trump from an office he rightfully shouldn’t have. They need to keep the lobbyists money flowing and figure out how to get reelected until their retirements. Wait for the campaign lies we’ll hear. A real house cleaning is called for. The next big shock to the GOP will be the increasing numbers of registered Republicans who will drop their GOP memberships and re-register as Conservative Independents. Maybe Morning Joe gets it after all, but for different reasons.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!
Seven Wasted Years
Opinion July 25, 2017The Washington Post in its never ceasing quest to demonize and destroy Donald Trump is now examining his relationship with the several recalcitrant Republican Senators who believe they alone have the answer to true happiness and prosperity regardless of their prior promises to repeal the ADA. The Post claims the Senators left the Presidents luncheon ‘confused’ about exactly what Trump wants to see in the GOP’s dying Healthcare bill. We’re not confused!
Regardless of what the Post wants, Trumps base wants Obamacare “REPEALED.” They promised, time and again and now, when push comes to shove, they’re stepping back refusing to repeal the ADA because, “the public needs it!” Unprepared, they wasted seven years. Is their a disconnect between Trump and the Republican Congress as the Post claims? You bet there is! What nobody wants to acknowledge is that Trump is Americas CEO, with a mandate, not a political hack who bends to the will of big money lobbyists, political chiefs and popular demand. Like Ronald Reagan, Trump is from outside the circle and is not beholden to the mechanisms they control. He got his message out and they didn’t. Trump is the President!
Neither the Washington Post, the other mean street media organs, or the Republican Party see Trumps as an equal. They don’t even see him as President. He’s a danger to them because he answered a mandate demanded by the people. He is their champion and still, after six months, continues to prove it. It’s driving the Left crazy so they also attack his son Donald Jr.
If we look closely however, we can see slow forces moving the mechanism of political financing. Some big GOP donors are now contemplating discontinuing their support for those RiNO incumbents not willing to support Trump’s goals. One named donor, Frank Vander Sloot of an Idaho based nutritional supplement company, abhorred the lack of personal courage some Republicans have shown toward keeping their promise, fearful instead of losing their jobs.
Another barely perceptible movement, a shifting of the sands sort of, is the lagging confidence of the rank and file in their leadership. Open defiance of course, invites loss of committee and sub-committee chairmanships, but more importantly, if they don’t defy, their re-elections lie in jeopardy. Conversely the leadership, Ryan and McConnell, are losing faith in the rank and file to follow them. These fears are healthy and will cause either a re-thinking by incumbents of their political positions, or will encourage candidacies of more non-political outsiders to step into the fray, challenge incumbents and push the RiNO’s out. It’s definitely coming.
The Post views Trumps problems within the GOP as a never-ending crisis of leadership when in fact it is really legislative incompetents hurling themselves against an immovable object. Frustration may be the result but frustration is ultimately the path leading to progress.
Forget the Democrats. They’re broke. indeed, encumbered by a huge debt. They have no youthful candidates coming up through the ranks not already programed to be anti-American and are without a message except, “A Better Deal,” do they really think they can recover congress from an alert conservative base? Don’t bet on it. Seven wasted years.
Trumps message problem as the Post happily points out, is that media attacks will constantly overshadow his plans. For Trump the problem here is who controls what’s left of the Republican party. Trump sees it as a simple executive business function, the Elites see it as a disaster. The insiders will never understand his mandate. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is
the way. Now go help make America great again!
Short Takes – What Has Hollywood Done Now?
Opinion January 11, 2018
What has Hollywood Done Now?
Well, well, well, In yet another staged gala event awarding themselves statues and recognitions, The Golden Orbs awards ceremony, filled with Hollywood’s beautiful people dressed in black to make a visual statement about something that irks them, joined together with unbridled enthusiasm to proclaim their new messiah, Oprah Winfrey as their 2020 Presidential choice.
That won’t go well with the Democrats who still have their usual suspects, the elderly Joe Biden, Chuckie Schumer, Barry Sanders, the Indian maiden, Liz Warren, and dementia challenged Nancy Pelosi, hanging around their necks like albatrosses or hangman nooses. No, Oprah is good for preaching the Progressive line, expressing costly empathy for the poor and downtrodden, the illegals and homeless and those living in the shadows, but not as president. That simply won’t do! One presidential disaster is enough to overcome.
Admittedly, Oprah made a wonderfully stirring speech against something or other, the powerlessness of women one supposes, that could be classified right up there with Obama’s speech to the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago a few years ago. That speech, like Oprah’s, quickly brought Obama instant political recognition and then the presidency a few years later which he promptly set about “changing.” Obama was a fascist. Oprah is a products salesman.
For 2020, the elephant in the room is the sitting President, Donald Trump. He is getting things done by setting America back on it constitutional tracks, while being the constant object of left wing media derision, fake news attacks designed to undermine his administration, and personal attacks against his family, his associates and his administration. Oh, hell, attacks against anything Conservative and everything Trump.
The need to make comparisons cannot be ignored. Both Trump and Oprah are very wealthy in their own rights and that recommends them for good business sense. Trumps skills lie in recognizing where money can be made, not out of wacky ideas or from printing presses, but of seeing potential in community growth, offering people what they want and buying property to build structures that will accomplish those goals. He spreads the wealth. So does Oprah, but on a commercial scale of product identification and salesmanship. She’s very good at it.
Other skills Trump enjoys is the ability to successfully negotiate with people, to make them happy with the deal, as well as making his investors happy. That’s called Capitalism and the fall out for it is increased employment for the communities he builds in and taxes for government.
Oprah is wealthy because she knows how to sell products, save her money and spread wealth and happiness to the people she employees and the people she hocks her products to. Not too shabby, and another great example of Capitalism at work. Both are hard workers and it shows,
But Trump also saw how quickly a rogue government can steal a populations economic vitality by ignoring the rules of economics (socialism) through onerous rules and regulations. He sought to correct it by running for President with the expressed purpose of making America great again. The people bought it and he is doing exactly what he promised he would do, like Jesus kicking the money changers out of the temple. 2020 is three years away. Can Hollywood really sell us Oprah? Can she do what Trump has done? That remains to be seen, but don’t bet on it.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (10Jan18)
Short Takes – The Ugly Americans
Opinion November 20, 2017
I could start out I suppose with some screed about the disappearing Al Franken(stein) but he’s done so much damage to himself and his party that little more need be said. Just keep it in mind that Al Franken is a really creepy fellow. My lasting image of him was his role in the movie Trading Places mocking a caged gorilla. I can’t get that image out of my mind and listening to big Al, now a humorless US Senator from Minnesota, interrogate Trump appointees as a member of the Senate Judiciary committee, I’m not convinced at all that the real gorilla truly didn’t get released back into the African wild. Enough on Al.
President Trump has just returned from his first presidential tour in the Far East. His reception by the Chinese was triumphal yet marred in the eyes of Trumps Chinese hosts by the ugly American incident that embarrassed President Trump, and should have embarrassed all American’s.
It seems that the UCLA Basketball team was on a tour playing against teams in the Chinese People’s Republic, when three of UCLA’s sterling members, Americans of African descent as it turns out, brought shame and embarrassment to President Trump and disgrace to themselves, and our nation, by assuming they were in their neighborhood corner convenience store where they could freely help themselves to pairs of sunglasses without paying for them. It’s called shoplifting or petty theft but, it’s still a crime. Could get you killed in Ferguson, Mo.
While the ‘brothers’ may look upon such actions here in America as their rightful due because their ancestors were once slaves, the Chinese look upon such social trivialities with different eyes. Ten years in a Chinese prison can be no picnic and, except for the incidental presence of an embarrassed President Trump, that’s exactly where they would have been, for a long, long time and nobody would be crying racism because nobody would care.
To their good fortune, President Trump sprung them from their worst possible nightmare of actually being enslaved as prisoners of the Chinese State. He got them home safe into the embrace of their communities where such behavior is apparently expected and alas, accepted. The three, their eyes cast down to the printed words provided to them mumbled, without contrition, their appreciation to President Trump for their salvation yet, not one word of apology was expressed to the American people for shaming our country by their feckless behavior.
People like these three are not really Americans because they have no pride and no shame. And, except for the fact they were born here, they are really just US citizens in name only, of no value to American prosperity or advancement and should be considered as such.
The three miscreants have passports and therefore, as individuals, should be allowed to come and go to foreign countries as they wish, but never, never, ever should they be allowed to go abroad again as members of any organized sports team, debate society, or anthropological research team, representing America. We have enough problems with our own government perverts stalking storm ravaged Caribbean Islands looking for poor children to molest and groping women in corporate work places to add these guys to our burden.
One big problem for America is that we have lost our morality on an individual basis. We truly believe that all (Americans) are equal yet we send forth goodwill ambassadors, passionate exponents for their sports, mostly, and they become the ugly Americans. What’s to be done?
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (18Nov17).
What Just Happened?
Opinion January 23, 2018
What happened? Date line, Monday 22 Jan 2018: Inexplicably, Senate minority leader Chuckie Schemer rallied the Senate Democrats to support the Government funding bill. Suddenly there was a virtual stampede of Democrat Senators to vote with Republicans to send the CR bill to Trumps desk to continue the funding the US Government into March. “Get outta the way!”
The issue of course was based firmly in the belief by the Democrats geriatric leadership that the Republicans would flinch yet again and cave in to their demands, on top of the needs of the country, that illegal intruders (they can’t be immigrants if they’re illegal) be awarded amnesty simply because their parents dragged them across a border from their miserable countries into the United States so they could make America a miserable country too.
Chuckie Schumer completely lost sight of the Constitution and the rule of law that protects a governments sovereignty. It must have been Schumer’s thinking that if Americans won’t vote for Democrats, he’ll import people who will so, he wants to load up the voter rolls with the third world’s great unwashed and sought to do so by way of challenging Trump with an illegal immigrant showdown over government funding. Oops!
When it quickly became apparent that closing down government because Democrats demand that tax payers support 800,000 undocumented illegal invaders under such innocent sounding terms as DACA and CHIP, over the lawful funding of legal Americans like military soldiers, social security recipients, and etc., then their argument quickly loses its appeal.
Where did the 800,000 number that Democrats want amnesty for, come from? That’s essentially the number of illegals, aka: “Dreamers” who signed up for Obama’s amnesty program at its beginning. The actual number is closer to four million but, we’re told to Ignore the numbers, they are simple children brought here by their illegal invader parents and they must be helped. Democrats also ignore the fact that most of those “Dreamers” are now adults and the percentage who have not assimilated into becoming American’s, learn English and find employment is jaw dropping.
For example, the renegade State of California has now announced plans to allow illegals intruders who claim sanctuary and are entitled to a California drivers license and automatic registration on the voters rolls as well. What could go wrong here? I’ll tell you what’s wrong with that. Apart from neutralizing my legitimate vote, every state in the union has drivers license reciprocity with every other state in the union, including Canada and Mexico.
If California demeans the validity of their drivers licenses by the artifact of enfranchisement of illegal invaders, then the value of that California drivers license is demand beyond its borders. Automatically, they become unreliable and any of the forty nine other states plus Canada and Mexico, do not have to recognize that license. Tickets will be issued, drivers jailed, and cars impounded, all for lack of legitimate ID’s. Californians will be unable to drive beyond the borders of their state anymore. Who are these stupid people who think up these stupid ideas and expect the rest of America to accept them too?
Schumer overplayed his hand or lost his nerve and he caved. A first! The extreme Left of the Democrat party are now in a frenzy against Schumer’s leadership. That’s all well and good.
The motto is :”If you want to make America a S__thole country, vote Democrat!
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (23Jan18)
Short Takes – The Roy Moore Affair
Opinion November 17, 2017
I take no side on Roy Moore except to recognize an organized plot to disenfranchise Alabama voters by the Elite DC Swamp dwellers. Whatever happens to Roy Moore is the concern of the voters of Alabama alone, not Mitch McConnell. If he wins he must be seated. Senate rules or not, it is not the ”Elite” establishments role to kill the Senatorial choice of the voters of Alabama simply because Roy Moore is an ultra conservative and not one of them.
The array of females accusing Moore of predatory sexual offenses in years gone by, standing alongside ultra feminist lawyer Gloria Alred, is proof enough that the whole tawdry thing is another orchestrated coup attempt against Trumps administration in favor of maintaining the status quo of the DC swamp dwellers. It’s a full court press against our Constitution too.
Sean Hannity, fearing that his earlier interview of Roy Moore tended to exculpate the Judge, in light of the phony school yearbook business shows him in a bad light, has demanded that Judge Moore clarify his position, immediately, in view of the damming new information of the old signature in the yearbook trick. Just who the hell is Hannity to demand such a thing?
I still have my high school senior yearbook from 1957. It is filled with pro forma signatures of fellow students, of both sexes, wishing me good luck in the future and all that stuff. And I did the same. Looking at some of these names today, I don’t remember many of the people who signed my book except those with whom I grew up with from elementary, through Junior High to High school. For the others, from other school systems, I cannot even now, know what our relationship was or why they were interested in my future. But, their names are there.
Roy Moore matriculated through Alabama politics, as a Christian and a Democrat all the way to Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court without ever being accused of anything but being a Christian. He stayed there until the evil forces of Marxism contested his decision to maintain the “Opiate of the Working Class”, a visual stone monument of the Ten Commandments, on State property. The anti-Christ’s went berserk, forcing an unelected board of Christian haters to remove the judge from his chair. Could they actually do that without a criminal charge?
The people of Alabama elected Moore to the Alabama Supreme Court, not an unelected board of weaklings bowing to the grinding forces that demand the separation of Church and State, to remove him. Now, Roy Moore, as the Republican candidate for Alabama’s junior Senator, a true believer in the Constitution as it was intended to be applied, not as the Left want’s us to believe it should be applied, is the target of a scurrilous attack against his character and his Christianity.
As a career criminal investigator, I still haven’t heard that any of those women, not one who have stepped forward to demean judge Moore, have been deposed under oath. To the Left, it makes no difference though because the alleged crimes, long past their shelf life, still sells so the charges just hang out there as truths. I don’t believe it for one minute.
It is unfortunate for Judge Moore at the moment, that Left wing Democrat men, DC and Hollywood types alike, are being sucked into the vortex of sexual crimes against women, with evidence, just at the time the establishment politicians are trying to defend their swamp from Conservatives like Roy Moore. What a splendid opportunity for the left to add the Judge in there, which is exactly what they are doing. Lumping Moore into the class of perverts like the Democrats are riddled with, is disgusting. Think of Bill Clinton, Al Franken and Robert Menendez. It’s the dirty politics we’ve been expecting and being ratcheted up to full volume.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (16Nov17)
Short Takes – Here Comes John Kasich Again
Opinion November 6, 2017
Here Comes John Kasich Again
America is caught in a tsunami of sad news, depending on one’s point of view. Mueller hasn’t found dirt on Trump; NFL players openly disrespects the American flag and National anthem; a shooter in Las Vegas kills 58 people; The Hillary campaign and the DNC were responsible for the phony “dossier” against Trump; another Muslim murders eight with a truck in NYC & etc..
But, we still have internal problems that, if not countered could make the next few years a mirror image of the past eight. I have pointed out in previous articles that Ohio Governor John Kasich has a deep yearning that “he needs to be President,” an obsession almost as bad as Hillary’s. The Governor said: “he would represent a different viewpoint, insisting he wants to restore “basic principles of caring, of love, of compassion, of connectedness.” Well, we just got rid of those dysfunctional viewpoints, didn’t we? Ya just can’t keep a good man down, can you?
What he means is that his ‘different viewpoint’ isn’t the one that the impostor Donald Trump, embraces. Kasich clearly believes the polls that shows Trump’s popularity at a low 30% so Trump must be universally hated, not only by the “establishment” but by the citizens who voted for him. That borders on dementia just like Hillary’s. If you believe Trump’s popularity lies at 30%, you should give up reading tea leaves for a living.
Kasich’s ‘different viewpoint’ is the same “compassionate conservatism” BS that George W. Bush championed. It was such an un-conservative point of view that it left the conservative electorate wondering exactly who we were and, it opened the door to the Democrats. We were also suddenly attacked by the dark forces of Islam. It was the 9/11 murders. We were off guard.
Kasich also said “there has to be a fundamental change, in my opinion, with all of us. I’m willing to be part of that (as President). I want my voice to be out there. I want it very, very much.” Fundamental change? Isn’t that exactly what Barack Obama sold enough of us on that he got himself elected twice despite revealing himself as a complete and ultimately incompetent liar, cheat and hypocrite? John Kasich now enters the ranks as a new Progressive.
Since Trumps November 2016 election victory, 4th place runner up John Kasich still pursues a campaign for Trumps job, as a #Never Trump” darling of the “Establishment.” He insists that Trump was really not who the American people wanted but that Trump was a usurper of the Republican party platform substituting his own “Make America Great Again” plan while ignoring the Party’s principles and advice.
But, Trump is President, and indeed, has started draining the swamp, including republicans. My only observation about that is that Trump never realized just how deep the swamp really was, and despite all the caterwauling from the “elites” including John Kasich, Trump has revealed that the swamp creatures individually are unidentifiable as anything other than corrupted politicians, no matter their party affiliation. Party affiliation only counts at election time. After the election, let the looting continue!
John Kasich reveals himself. Essential to his desire to “restore basic principles of caring, of love, of compassion, of connectedness” is his determination to cling to bipartisanship, with Democrats, to do Americans work. I don’t believe Kasich really knows or understands the enemy he wants to embrace with his “hands across the aisle” nonsense unless he’s one of them. One need only look no further than John McCain, to see and understand the failure of that idea.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (03Nov2017)
A NFL Maelstrom is Coming
Opinion October 10, 2017
An NFL Maelstrom is Coming
Can it possibly be that the citadel of America’s favorite Fall pastime, the mega money making conglomerate called the National Football league and its appendage, the NFL Players Assoc., are in cahoots with the radical left, both politically and economically? “Say it ain’t so Joe.” Are they really contributing millions of dollars to George Soros and other ultra-Liberal organizations dedicated to Socializing America. Do the players know? Probably not. I’ll explain…
The outward appearance is that the NFL and the NFL Players Association are determined to destroy their brand, and their livelihoods, by continuing their “unity” crusade to disrespect every thing Americas stands for and the Left hates, including its honor, its military, its customs and traditions and even the people who support them, the same middle American’s who provide the soldiers, sailors and airmen that have stood up to defend our country.
The NFL owners tell us they respect the player’s right to exercise their free expression. I use the term “free expression” and not free speech because the majority of the kneeling players are too ignorant to articulate a cohesive speech except by the use of cliches. The supposedly college educated members of Pro-Football, it is determined, are educated to the 8th grade level.
We realize this instinctively when we hear them being interviewed on the sidelines, or watch as they raise a leg doggie style on a goal post to signify their status in the pack, and Americans are starting to realize that pro-football has turned into a side-show of muscled freaks, each trying to out do the other with their dancing skills in the end zone to the screaming cheers of their team fanatics. As we watch we determine, to ourselves, that while the antics we see may be stupid, even outrageous, they are no longer unexpected. The reins of restraint have been loosened and the flood gate of sub-cultural habits are pouring out. It is becoming the new norm.
Why has the NFL and the NFL Players Assoc. donated millions to the leftists political organizations like the Center for Community Change, a George Soros group, and the Leftist “Working America” that is devoted to bringing down the Trump presidency? I’m just asking. Shouldn’t you? Why are our high cost entertainment dollars being spent to help topple a government? Is it because the Progressive Left still believes they will return to power and will need spectacular games and ignorant gladiators to keep the citizenry happy while the world collapse around them? Yes indeed, a maelstrom is coming!
And, the basis of their alleged complaints lies in what happened 150 or so years ago when blacks were actually slaves. Today blacks, who are not slaves and never were, well, at least until LBJ’s War on Poverty under 1964 Civil Rights Act, want to fight whites who were never slaveholders over Confederate symbols that were created by Democrats. So, what’s the NFL’s role in this business? I believe it’s white guilt by white team owners not wanting to injure the feelings of their ignorant slave/gladiators, by giving in to their claims of “Team Unity,” and I have no idea where that comes from. When white players join them in “taking a knee” in disrespect, it’s because they’ve been intimidated by the taunts of “Racism, and white privilege.”
It is for this reason we see the positions, once solely occupied by skilled white players on majority black teams, quickly declining; why coaching staffs are turning darker and why more broadcast booths are filling with fashionably suited black game prognosticators telling viewers what they just saw. It’s a happy facade. It’s in your face racism and it’s not whites doing it.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (08Oct17)
