Two arrested in connection with Franklin County burglary

FRANKLIN COUNTY,Two people have been arrested in connection with an alleged burglary reported earlier this month in Franklin County, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, to a reported burglary at a residence on Crawford Road. Investigators identified Natavious Darrell Hargrove, of Martin, and Dalena Leegail Baker, of Toccoa, as suspects in the case.

Authorities obtained arrest warrants for both suspects as the investigation continued. Investigators also learned Hargrove had active warrants in Stephens County charging him with battery and that he was considered a flight risk with violent tendencies, according to the sheriff’s office.

Because of Hargrove’s previous charges in Stephens County, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Response Team was deployed Tuesday, Sept. 15, to execute the arrest warrants at a residence on Crawford Road in Martin.

With assistance from the Georgia State Patrol’s K-9 unit, deputies took Hargrove into custody without incident.

Hargrove was charged with burglary, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects. He also remains wanted on the Stephens County warrants, according to authorities.

Baker was taken into custody by Stephens County deputies the morning of Sept. 15 near Jenkins Ferry Road. She was charged with burglary.

The investigation remains active, and authorities said additional charges could be filed as the case develops.
