Martin Arrested in Connection with Drug Trafficking in Stephens County

STEPHENS COUNTY, Ga. – Tuesday afternoon, June 16, 2026, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit (CSU), in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s (GBI) Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Alban Court in Toccoa as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
The residence is associated with Gilbert “Boo” Martin, 49 of Toccoa.
The SCSO CSU and GBI ARDEO initiated an investigation into Martin who is suspected of selling illegal narcotics and contraband in Stephens County.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, SCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop on Dodge Charger on Craig Street near Alban Court.
During the stop, they identified Martin as a passenger in the vehicle.
Martin was detained while law enforcement officers executed a search warrant of his residence on Alban Court. During the search, law enforcement officers located and seized the following items:
- Approximately 6 pounds of suspected marijuana;
- Approximately 10 grams of suspected cocaine;
- Approximately 8.2 ounces (242 milliliters) of suspected illegal anabolic steroids.
- Multiple controlled substances, including various forms of amphetamines, alprazolam, and oxycodone;
- One handgun;
- And approximately $3,055 in U.S. currency.
Martin was then arrested and transported to the Stephens County Detention Center without further incident.
He remains in jail on a $195,000 bond set by a Stephens County magistrate judge.
Martin has been charged with the following: Possession of Marijuana (Felony), Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, four counts of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Criminal Attempt – Trafficking Marijuana.
