PRESS RELEASE – A former Division of Family and Children Services (DFACs) employee, from Calhoun, Georgia, has been arrested for child abuse.
Roy Payne, age 40, of Calhoun, GA, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and charged with three counts of child abuse, three counts of child molestation, and one count of sodomy.
According to the investigation conducted by the GBI, allegations were made that he had committed child abuse while in his custody while he was working with DFACs.
The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI investigate child abuse allegations on Friday, April 14, 2023.
