DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. – A man wanted on multiple aggravated assault charges out of DeKalb County was taken into custody Wednesday during a joint operation involving the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the U.S. Marshals Service.
According to authorities, Terrell Dennis was apprehended at a residence in Dawson County on April 22. Officials said the SWAT team executed the arrest warrant without incident.
Dennis exited the home peacefully as law enforcement secured the scene. Authorities noted that a BearCat armored vehicle, referred to as “Ralph,” was positioned in the front yard during the operation.
The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office said the arrest was carried out safely and credited the coordination between local deputies and federal agents.
In a statement, Sheriff Jeff Johnson praised the efforts of those involved.
“I am proud of the continued training of our SWAT Team Members, in preparation for incidents such as this,” Johnson said. “Working in partnership with the U.S. Marshals, these collective professionals were able to safely effect an arrest on an individual accused of some very serious and dangerous charges.”
No injuries were reported during the operation. Authorities have not released additional details about the charges Dennis faces in DeKalb County.
