Drugs disguised as candy

PRESS RELEASE – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office would like to inform parents of dangerous drugs disguised as candy.

There have been instances across the US where officers have made drug busts and recovered dangerous drugs including ecstasy and fentanyl that appear to be colorful candy or chewable vitamins.

A recent arrest and drug confiscation was made here in Franklin County, so YES it can happen here.

With Halloween just around the corner please be mindful of where any candy your children may come in contact with. The attached pictures are examples of candy-disguised drugs that have been seized.
