JACKSON COUNTY, Ga. – A 29-year-old Bethlehem man was arrested in Jackson County on multiple charges involving alleged child sexual offenses, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Dwayne Victor McElroy was arrested Sept. 23 and faces charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, two counts of child molestation, first-degree cruelty to children, misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.

The sheriff’s office announced the arrest in a social media post and said the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities have not released additional details about the allegations or identified the child or children involved.

McElroy remains accused of the charges unless and until proven guilty in court.
