GEORGIA — Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff has won reelection to the U.S. Senate, defeating Republican challenger Mike Collins in Georgia’s closely watched 2026 midterm election, according to the Associated Press.
Ossoff’s victory secures him a second six-year term representing Georgia in the Senate.
Republican challenger Mike Collins, a U.S. representative from Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, campaigned on supporting Trump’s agenda, strengthening border security, addressing inflation and promoting his record in Congress.
Collins received Trump’s endorsement during a competitive Republican primary earlier this year. He ultimately defeated former football coach Derek Dooley in a June runoff to secure the Republican nomination.
The race attracted significant national attention, with Ossoff raising more than $109 million during the campaign, making him the top fundraiser among Senate candidates nationally, according to the Associated Press.
Ossoff’s victory keeps the Senate seat in Democratic hands and adds another significant result to an election cycle that will help determine the balance of power in Washington.
