Youth Football Fires Up On Saturday

With the opening day for youth football being the 24th of August, Teams from all over North Georgia have attended jamborees in the recent weeks to get a few hits in against player from teams they will face in 2018.  One of those jamborees was held at Pickens Co. High School on the Saturday the 18th.  Players from kindergarten through the age of eleven were there to get in the extra work.

The Mountain Football League will start play on Saturday with teams representing seven counties and eight teams in all age groups.  The counties in the MFL are Dawson, Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin, Lumpkin, Union, and Hall with 2 teams(East Hall and Chestatee).  These teams will travel to each county through out the season and at the end will finish up with the MFL Superbowl for each age group .
