UNION COUNTY, Ga. – A stolen 2024 Suzuki GSX800, valued at approximately $8,600, has been recovered by Union County Sheriff’s deputies, and a suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft.
The incident began on September 9, when deputies were called to report the stolen motorcycle.
The Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from Narcotics Investigators, launched an immediate investigation, canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing multiple residents.
A concerned citizen provided key information that led investigators to the motorcycle’s location. On September 16, deputies located the bike, which had been altered and repainted. Investigators confirmed it was the stolen vehicle. Allen Martin was arrested and charged with felony Theft by Taking.
Sheriff Dyer expressed gratitude to the citizen who came forward, highlighting the importance of community involvement in law enforcement efforts. “The eyes and ears of a community are one of the most valuable assets to a law enforcement agency,” the sheriff said. “We are extremely grateful for our community’s assistance.”
The Union County Sheriff’s Office said it will continue efforts to deter crime in the area and emphasized that individuals who commit thefts will be pursued and held accountable.
