Three Arrested for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Fentanyl in White and Habersham Counties

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. – The White County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office conducted a multi-day operation in December 2023 that led to the arrest of three people:

  • Cody Lee Fendley, age 38, of Cleveland, GA, was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Fendley was also wanted from a previous incident for aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and criminal trespass.
  • Ronald Bafile, age 42, of Cleveland, GA, was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, and fleeing and attempting to elude.
  • Megan Bafile, age 31, of Dahlonega, GA, was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, and obstruction of law enforcement.

During the operation, law enforcement seized more than a pound of suspected methamphetamine, as well as suspected fentanyl and marijuana throughout White and Habersham counties. The Cleveland Police Department also assisted in apprehending one of the suspects. The total street value of the drugs was about $15,000.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that covers 30 counties in North Georgia and consists of the following Sheriff’s Offices and Police Agencies: White County, Lumpkin County, Banks County, Jackson County, Habersham County, Stephens County, Rabun County, Franklin County, Gilmer County, Fannin County, the Cleveland Police Department and the Toccoa Police Department, along with the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
