Teen dies in church van crash in Habersham County

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. – On June 29, a wreck on Ga. 365 at Demorest-Mt Airy Highway in Demorest has now resulted in the death of a 15-year old.

Theodore “Teddy” Bone was a passenger in a River Point Communty Church van a SUV collided with the van on Saturday, June 29.

Initially, six individuals were reported injured.

Bone was airlifted from the scene to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

On Wednesday, July 3, Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire confirmed that Bone died from his injures.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 64-year-old Barry Thomas Clark.

Georgia State Patrol issued a warrant for first-degree vehicular homicide against Clark.

Clark turned himself into the Habersham County Detention Center in Clarkesville on Wednesday.

He was released on $30,000 bond the same day.
