Mardi Gras in the Mountains 2017 crowns new King and Queen
Community March 13, 2017Residents from local counties in North Georgia were representing their community in the contest to be Mardi Gras in the Mountains King and Queen while raising some money for a good cause.
Mardi Gras in the Mountains is an annual joint fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Jasper, The Knights of Columbus and Georgia Mountains Hospice. The annual event was held Saturday, February 25th from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at Appalachian Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper, Georgia. The evening was enjoyed by a large attendance.
The night included fine dining, a band, silent auction and coronation of the King and Queen and Honor Court. Congratulations to all for the fundraising and special recognition to this year’s King Lonnie Waters and Queen Amy Leake. Attendees enjoyed a great dinner and wonderful entertainment. Eleventh Annual Rotary Blues Train Event was held Sept 16th in Blue Ridge
Uncategorized September 19, 2016The Rotary Club of Blue Ridge held its Eleventh Annual Rotary Train Event on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad Friday, September 16, 2016. Once again, its Founding Title Sponsors North Georgia Ford and Autotrader.com presented the Rotary Blues Train.
Proceeds from the event will support both the Programs of Rotary and the Ferst Foundation Literacy Project which provides books to children from birth to five years of age. More than 400 children in Fannin County have received free books mailed to their homes each month through this program. Over 20,000 books delivered through this program in Fannin County so far!
