Stolen Vehicle Found and Returned at the Shell station at US Highway 78 and Highway 100

On Friday, July 8, 2022, Sgt. Jarred Taylor was flagged down in Tallapoosa in reference to a stolen vehicle. Sgt. Taylor was advised that a vehicle that had been reported stolen seven months ago was sitting at the gas pumps at the Shell station at US Highway 78 and Highway 100. Sgt. Taylor pulled in front of the 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and did verify through GCIC that it was a stolen vehicle. The driver, Stephanie Mixon, was arrested on Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Forgery. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested on an outstanding warrant not related to this case. The vehicle was returned to the owner.
