School threats led to six children arrested

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – On Friday, March 31, Sheriff Ron Freeman with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, announced that they had recently investigated six threats to Forsyth County schools.

The timing of these threats were especially cruel, considering that six individuals were just killed during the Nashville mass shooting, including three nine-year-old children.

Sheriff Freeman address the public to let them know that there was no foundation to these threats and that the Sheriff’s Office took all precautions when it came to investigating the threats.

This led to six individuals arrested, including a 12-year-old boy that was taken into custody on Friday.

The threats consisted of empty promises to shoot, bomb, and or cause other immediate danger to the schools and student body.

Sheriff Freeman reassured the public and students that the threats have been found to be without credibility and there is no current threat to the schools.

However, he did want to leave with a very serious message for students.

“If you threaten a Forsyth County School, if you threaten any school in Forsyth County whether it’s a public or private school, whether it is a joke or a hoax or whatever you want to call it, I will put you in jail,” Freeman said.
