PRESS RELEASE – On January 30, 2023, White County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in White County in which the driver Jody Allen Shea fled from law enforcement.

The vehicle pursuit entered Lumpkin County on Highway 115.

In the area of Highway 52 East, Shea struck a civilian’s vehicle and continued to flee from law enforcement. Shea then traveled through the round-about and continued to flee from law enforcement on Highway 52.

Just prior to Lewis Brown Road, Shea went into the opposite lane of travel and struck a embankment at which point a White County Patrol vehicle was able to pin Shea’s vehicle causing it to come to a complete stop.
