LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. – A Dahlonega man was killed and another driver injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday night on Highway 115 in Lumpkin County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The crash occurred around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Grindle Brothers Road. Preliminary findings indicate that a Honda Civic traveling south on GA-115 crossed out of its lane and struck a northbound Kia Sorento in the left lane.
The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as 32-year-old Christopher Parker of Dahlonega, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Kia Sorento, 18-year-old Timmy McDuffie of Demorest, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.
According to GSP, the investigating trooper noted the Kia’s speedometer was locked at approximately 55 miles per hour. Authorities said charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
