HART COUNTY, Ga. — One person was critically injured and another was hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash on Anderson Highway (Highway 29) in Hart County on June 10.
According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, along with Hart County EMS and the Hart County Fire Department, responded to the crash at approximately 2:21 p.m. in front of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office.
Authorities said the collision involved a pickup truck pulling a boat, a small pickup truck and a tractor-trailer.
Emergency crews had to extricate the driver of the small pickup truck from the vehicle. The driver was airlifted by LifeFlight to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported by Hart County EMS to AnMed Health for treatment. Officials said the driver of the pickup truck pulling the boat was not injured.
The Georgia State Patrol was requested to assist with the investigation. Members of the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT), Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and the Georgia Department of Transportation also responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Hart County Sheriff Chris Carroll thanked all responding agencies for their assistance and professionalism during the incident and asked the community to keep those involved in their thoughts and prayers.
