PRESS RELEASE – A Young Harris woman was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine after a K-9 officer alerted to her vehicle.
The arrested took place on Friday, May 13 at 5:00 p.m., when Lt. Tommy Shook and K-9 Dakota conducted a traffic stop on Highway 339 and Crooked Creek Connector.
K-9 Dakota conducted a free air sniff and alerted on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and an amount of Methamphetamine which field tested positive was confiscated.
Ashley Marie Reece, age 32, of Young Harris was then arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving Without a License and Failure to Maintain Lane.
In a statement released by the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Ken Henderson stated that he ‘is pleased to see our K-9s at work and their continued efforts on drugs.’
