FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A 21-year-old man was arrested following a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle that ended in a crash and foot chase, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident began the evening of April 24, when a master deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger Hellcat that matched the description of a vehicle reported stolen out of Gwinnett County and believed to have entered Forsyth County.
Authorities said the driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit. During the chase, the suspect was reportedly weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed and turned off the vehicle’s lights. Deputies ultimately discontinued the pursuit due to safety concerns for other motorists.
A short time later, deputies received reports that the vehicle had crashed and the driver had fled the scene on foot. A civilian directed responding deputies to a man seen running from the area.
Within minutes, a deputy located the suspect running through high grass nearby. He was detained and later identified as Isaac Davis, 21. Investigators said a wallet containing his identification was recovered between the crash site and the location where he was taken into custody.
According to the sheriff’s office, Davis was also found in possession of items commonly associated with robbery, including a loaded firearm.
Officials with Gwinnett County Police Department responded to the scene and are coordinating with Forsyth County authorities regarding additional charges connected to the stolen vehicle.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The case remains under investigation.
