Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested for Criminal Trespass

JACKSON COUNTY, Ga. – A Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy has been arrested and charged with criminal trespass and violation of oath of office by the GBI.

The GBI was asked to investigate after a citizen filed a formal complaint alleging that the deputy entered the complainant’s property without permission while on duty.

The deputy, Zachary Billings, turned himself into the Jackson County Jail without incident.

The GBI did not state Billings reasoning for entering the property but stated that they are still actively investigating the incident.

The GBI said that when their investigation is completed the case file will be given to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office for review.
