Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office Deputy arrested after a domestic violence incident

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. – Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office released a statement in regards to one of their own deputies being arrested in Pickens County.

“On Friday morning, March 24, 2023, GCSO Deputy Christopher Couch was arrested by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office after a domestic violence incident. At this time, GCSO can not make a comment on an ongoing investigation that is being conducted by another agency. Deputy Couch has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the Internal Affairs investigation.”

He was charged with one count of of aggravated assault and one count of simple battery -family violence.

A $15,000 bond was set for his release.
