GCSO addresses ‘extra asphalt’ scam that is targeting locals

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. – Gilmer County is responding to a report from a concerned citizen about a possible ‘extra asphalt’ scam  being used on local residents.

The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office issued the following statement:

“Gilmer Dispatch has received one report today from approximately 9 miles out Roy Road. The caller reported 5-6 males with the main male introducing himself as “Jack Harrison.” The same story was used about having “extra asphalt” and they could pave their already paved driveway. Some work was done but billed the customer for $23k!
