GBI Arrests Former Calhoun Police Officer, Two Chatsworth Residents in Whitfield County Shooting Investigation

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a former Calhoun Police Department officer and two Chatsworth residents in connection with a shooting investigation in Whitfield County.

According to the GBI, Jorge Alejandro Gonzalez, 44, of Chatsworth, Jose Neo Rodriguez, 28, of Chatsworth, and Adrianna Gonzalez, 27, of Chatsworth, were arrested following an investigation into a shooting that happened May 6 on County Farm Road.

Investigators said Rodriguez is a former officer with the Calhoun Police Department.

The GBI said Jorge Gonzalez was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Adrianna Gonzalez and Rodriguez were each charged with making false statements to law enforcement, stalking, and aggravated assault.

According to investigators, the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI assistance around 7:15 p.m. on May 6 following a shooting investigation in Whitfield County.

The investigation determined that Jorge Gonzalez allegedly shot at a man and woman in the area of County Farm Road. Authorities said Adrianna Gonzalez and Rodriguez made false statements to investigators and assisted Jorge Gonzalez in locating and following the victims to the scene of the shooting.

Jorge Gonzalez was taken into custody on May 6 and booked into the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Detention Center.

Authorities said Adrianna Gonzalez and Rodriguez were arrested May 13 and also booked into the detention center.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Calhoun at 706-624-1424. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Conasauga Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
