BREAKING NEWS – Reports are coming in that Mama Geraldine’s Bodacious Foods Co. is on fire.

Witnesses have said they heard an explosion and Pickens County fire department can be seen reporting to the area.

Locals have been urged to avoid the area if possible.

UPDATE:

A press release was issued by Pickens County Fire and Rescue regarding the structure fire:

“First arriving Jasper Fire units immediately reported a working fire with smoke and flames showing. Upon additional scene assessment, it was obvious that the structure was heavily involved with fire with a heavy fire load inside which hampered initial attack efforts. A county wide “all call” was issued for additional manpower from all county fire departments. Additional assistance was requested and received from Cherokee County Fire for an additional aerial device and a breathing air re-supply unit. It was a tough battle and long night for most fire personnel. As the fire was being brought under control, Incident Command began releasing some county units around 11:30 pm. The last county unit released around 2:00 AM with city units remaining on scene. Fire was reported extinguished around 5:00 AM with City Fire units and fire investigators still on scene at daylight this morning. Cause of fire is undetermined at this time and is currently under investigation with local and state fire investigators. Multiple fire unit’s county wide responded to the scene with practically every volunteer fire station sending personnel. The commercial structure suffered extensive fire damage. There were no reported injuries to civilian or fire personnel.”
