Dangerous hitchhiker arrested in Union County

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. – A man, alleged to be a dangerous hitchhiker, has been taken into custody in Union County today.

On Nov. 30, Jordan Hedden and Stephanie Neace were hitchhiking when a Cherokee County citizen picked up the pair.

According to reports, after Hedden entered the vehicle, he kidnapped the citizen, forcing her into the backseat and then took over her car.

Warrants were issued for Both Hedden and Neace.

Neace was identified and arrested in Georgia. Hedden evaded police for days, and was believed to have entered a Tennessee residence with a firearm during this time.

He later hitchhiked into Georgia where he was identified and arrested today, Dec. 4, in Union County.
