WHITE COUNTY, Ga. – A 41-year-old Cleveland man remains in the White County Jail without bond following a shooting that left a woman with a gunshot wound to the face.
According to the White County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Lothridge Road area around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 29 after receiving a report of a shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. White County EMS transported her to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators identified Andrew Landrum Waddell, 41, as the suspected shooter and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
Authorities later located Waddell at a family member’s residence in Baldwin with assistance from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and Banks County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. With assistance from the Banks County SWAT Team, Waddell was taken into custody without incident.
Waddell remains incarcerated in the White County Jail without bond in connection with the shooting.
The victim continues to recover from her injuries, according to authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing.
