Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation at Forsyth County Walmart, Authorities Give All Clear

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A reported bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a Walmart in Forsyth County on Sunday evening, but authorities later determined the threat was unfounded after conducting a thorough search of the building.

The incident occurred at the Walmart located at the intersection of Highway 9 and Commerce Boulevard. Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and ordered the store to be evacuated out of an abundance of caution.

Law enforcement agencies deployed explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams, including bomb detection dogs from multiple neighboring agencies, to conduct a comprehensive sweep of the property.

Following the search, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office issued an all-clear, confirming no explosive devices were found. No injuries were reported, and the store was allowed to resume normal operations.

Investigators have not released details about who made the bomb threat or how it was communicated to the store. Authorities have also not said whether any suspects have been identified or if criminal charges are expected.

The investigation remains ongoing.
