CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. — The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning at the Handi-Mart on Highway 48 in Menlo, according to Sheriff Mark Schrader.
Authorities say that at approximately 1:00 a.m., a man dressed entirely in dark clothing entered the store armed with a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.
Investigators are working to identify the individual and are reviewing all available leads. Sheriff Schrader said additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
