Dear Art Friends,

We have two exciting exhibit openings this week AND the Blue Ridge Writers’ Conference takes place this weekend as well. The vibrant art of Larry Smith will be on display inside the Richard Low Evans Gallery through May 5th, and our 2nd Quarter Artist-in-Residence, Chloe Grusenmeyer will showcase her art through June 30th inside the John & Evelyn Branch Gallery. Opening receptions for our two new artists and the Writers’ Conference will be Friday, April 6, from 5-7pm. Feel free to join us!

WRITERS’ CONFERENCE

The Blue Ridge Writers’ Conference mission is to educate, inform and inspire writers. During this conference writers will network with fellow writers, expand their markets and learn to hone their skills in various break out sessions. The 21st annual conference begins with a Workshop Intensive, which is now closed due to high demand, will be held on Friday, April 6 from 10:30am-2:30pm. However, there is still space available for the conference on Saturday! A Writers’ Meet and Greet will take place Fridayevening at 5pm. Writers’ Conference sessions begin on Saturday, April 7 from 9am-5pm.

The Art of LARRY SMITH

APRIL 6 – MAY 5

Join us as we welcome award winning impressionistic artist, Larry Smith to the Art Center with his beautiful oil paintings filled with dynamic color, movement and energy.

Opening reception is

April 6, 5-7pm.

“Life in Your Hands”

APRIL 6 – JUNE 30

Celebrate the beautiful oil paintings of Chloe Grusenmeyer in her first professional presentation at the age of 84 years young! Her exhibit entitled “Life in Your Hands” depicts various vignettes from our lives captured solely with poses and gestures of human hands.

Opening reception is

April 6, 5-7pm.
