Vehicle Pursuit Ends In Arrest

PRESS RELEASE – On March 4, 2025, Pickens County Deputies apprehended William Crawford after a high-speed pursuit that began when deputies located him as the subject of a BOLO from Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office in connection to an Aggravated Assault case.

When deputies attempted to stop Crawford, he fled at high speeds up Hwy 136 towards Dawson County, driving recklessly and endangering others on the road.

Due to the immediate danger he posed, deputies executed a PIT maneuver, successfully stopping his vehicle and taking him into custody.

Crawford was transported to the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and also faces multiple charges in Pickens County, including:

  • Felony Fleeing & Attempting to Elude
  • Drug Possession
  • Numerous Traffic Offenses
