PRESS RELEASE – The Murray County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, after an extended investigation, arrested Eric Hefner of Dalton, GA and Jonathan Powell of Knoxville, TN for drug-related activity. This investigation led to the seizure of approximately 35 grams of methamphetamine, 6 lbs of marijuana, 86 grams of psilocybin, a firearm, and $5,238 cash.
Eric Hefner is charged with:
-Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
-Felony possession of marijuana.
-Possession of a Schedule 1 substance (psilocybin).
Jonathan Powell is charged with:
-Trafficking methamphetamine.
-Intent to distribute methamphetamine.
-Possession of methamphetamine.
-Possession of a Schedule 1 substance (psilocybin).
-Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute.
-Felony possession of marijuana.
-Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
-Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Additionally, Mr. Powell had arrest warrants for Knox County, TN.
