The Lumpkin boys played in an incredible event on Saturday, the Gold City Shootout. The event hosted at Lumpkin’s Lynn Cottrell Gym was a great day for all who attended. With a great lineup of boys and girls games throughout the day. The Indians did not disappoint as the host team either winning a great game against Riverside Military Academy.
The Lumpkin Co Indians protected home court against Riverside Military Academy. It was a big team effort but senior Jones Harris had a career night. His 31 point effort was incredible to watch, as he scored from all levels of the floor. Frustrating Riverside who tried to make adjustments on him but to no avail. He also got help from sophomore Preston Cox who had 8 points and 8 rebounds. While freshman Cal Faulkner had a similar stat line of 8 points, 7 rebounds but also chipped 6 assists. All in all it was just too much for Riverside to try and match as the Indians won 61-46.
