PRESS RELEASE – The Jackson County Sheriff’s office issued the following press release to warn the community of suspicious activity and break-ins that have occurred recently.
On Thursday night after midnight and Saturday night a little before midnight, we have had two very disturbing incidents occur within the City Limits of Hoschton.
On Thursday night, Deputies made an arrest of a male subject, who had entered some peoples vehicles and also entered the carport of a home. The homeowners were home at the time. The suspect was charged with 7 Counts, to include Burglary, Entering Autos, and Loitering and Prowling.
Last night a little before midnight, a subject broke into a residence, the homeowner was home and heard someone inside and went to see what was going on. The subject fled the scene and shots were fired by the homeowner.
Deputies requested the assistance of Barrow County Deputies with K-9s in an attempt to locate the subject, however the subject was not found.
I want to advise the citizens of Hoschton and all citizens of Jackson County to be mindful of their surroundings at all times. There is evil in our society and these incidents are prime examples of that evil.
The safety and well being of the people of Jackson County are of the utmost importance to all of us at the Sheriff’s Office.
Call 911 immediately if there is any suspicious activity that you witness or experience.
