Safety Protocol Triggered as Unidentified Individuals Walked School Grounds

PRESS RELEASE – The Banks County Sheriff’s Office released a statement this morning, Aug. 20, regarding the safety protocol that was observed today.

“This morning an alert was activated at the Banks County Primary School due to two individuals being observed walking on the grounds of school property. This alert is activated as part of the school’s safety protocol.

After immediate investigation, the two subjects were identified and found to be using the school grounds to walk through upon leaving the Banks County Library. It was determined there is no threat to students, staff, or the community.

The Banks County Sheriff’s Office and Banks County Schools take every alert and report seriously. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we will always respond swiftly to ensure their protection.”

This is also a good reminder to note that many schools ask you to stay away from school grounds during school hours unless authorized to be there.

Adhering to a school’s policy helps to ensure the safety of all students and staff!
