A Word of Comfort for You Today

Religion

The Holy Spirit comes to comfort you by keeping Jesus lifted up before you at all times.

Let’s consider the work of the Holy Spirit today. Learn how He works, and He will work with you, and for you. Take notice how He worked in the life of Jesus, and His Disciples.

I have noticed two distinct kinds of Christians during my walk with the Lord. The first one I call good, religious Christians. They are faithful to whatever doctrine their church teaches.  They are born again. That means their spirit which was dead unto God from the fall of Adam is now alive. Their new, living spirit is then sealed by the Holy Spirit of God, for God.

The second one is born again, but this person sees more potential in the Holy Spirit by watching Him empower the Apostles for their ministry. This person then seeks and receives a more significant measure of the Holy Spirit which is an impartation of His abiding presence, His gifts, and His power.  When you are filled with Holy Spirit, the Word and the desire for the Word comes alive, and you become much more affected by the work and the witness of the Lord.

How well do you know Holy Spirit? This reveals how well you know Jesus because He takes the things of Jesus and shows them unto us. He can reveal much more of Jesus to you than you can otherwise learn. Have you received the fullness of Holy Spirit? Did you know He is the Spirit of the Father here on earth for you?

Luke1:35 “ And the angel answered and said to her, Mary “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” Jesus was fathered by the Holy Spirit, which is God. He is the son of God, fathered by the Holy Spirit of God.

Luke3:21-22 “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized and praying, the heaven was opened,

and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, “Thou art My beloved Son; in Thee, I am well pleased.” The Spirit is a Person of God; he is the Father’s power, he is  God down here. God now, and or God with you.

Look at this. The Holy Spirit first came upon John the Baptist while he was in his mother, Elizabeth’s womb to announce the coming ofJesus. Then He came upon Jesus to empower Him.

Luke4:14 “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.” Here Jesus is a sinless man with perfect cleansing blood in Him and all of the Spirit’s power of the Father in and upon Him. Jesus is being sent to beat the devil as a man, to prove him as nothing but a liar, and to take back God’s power to give it to us.

Acts10:38:” Peter said how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” If Jesus needed to be anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, how much more do we, the Church?

Acts: 14-17, Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

Who, when they came down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost? For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost”. These were Baptist believers who were sealed with the Spirit, but he had not fallen upon them and Baptist them. Could that be you?

Acts 19: 7 And it came to pass, that while Apollo’s was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him; we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, unto what then were ye baptized? And they said Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spoke with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.

That same Holy Spirit that followed Jesus is now following you.  He will keep you on the path of righteousness.  The Father sent Him in Jesus’ name. Work with Him, will you?
