Prediction: No One Will Win the Seat for GA’s 6th Congressional District Tonight

News about the 6th District Special Election is buzzing everywhere online. Democrats across the nation hope to see Jon Ossoff flip the 6th. While Republicans hope that the district remains the same. The candidates are preparing themselves for the results, but the winner will not be determined tonight.

The winner of the seat must get more than 50 percent of the votes in order to win the special election. If none of the candidates receive more than 50 percent, then the winner will be determined in the runoff election on June 20th.

The runoff election will be between the two top candidates of the election tonight. One of the top candidates will be Republican and the other will be Democratic because the 6th District is politically polarized.

Further, the Republicans and the Democrats in the District are divided significantly amongst themselves. There are 18 candidates in the race. Under these circumstances, how can the majority of voters be expected to choose one candidate?
