Short Takes – America With Kasich, A New Direction? Naw!

Opinion

Well, we can’t examine America’s multiple faults without hearing what Ohio Governor, John Kasich (R) has to say. First and foremost, it must be clear that he hates President Donald Trump and wants to replace him as Chief executive as soon as possible. A new direction perhaps?

The good governor communicated with me yesterday. He said: “George, thank you for your ongoing interest and support. Our message is making a real difference in America.“ Actually, his message is being ignored but the Florida school murders brought him out of his hole to dance in the moonlight of the 2nd amendment controversy. The governor bragged that: “in the wake of the tragic school shooting in Florida, I spoke about gun violence and the need to support common sense gun laws that make sense.”  It is fashionable for politicians, in their campaign mode as is Gov. Kasich, to call for “common sense” solutions to everything, but ignore the common sense portion of it when it counts. It’s violence with guns that matter. Common sense laws that would have prevented the Parkland, Florida tragedy, already exists, in their hundreds of pages, repeating themselves with the same anti-gun memes and, as always, ignored until the next shooting. Why have most all the mass shootings occur in “gun free zones?”

Pursuing his passion for “bipartisanship” the good Governor, aligned himself with two leaning socialist governors, Colorado’s John Hickenlooper (D), and Alaska’s Bill Walker (I), on CSPAN, for “bipartisanship interviews.” Gov.Kasich is so proud of his earlier appearances on CNN, ABC’s This Week, and Meet The Press, socialist origins all, to spread his views. He appeared with Governors Walker and Hickenlooper last Friday to announce their “bipartisan” blueprint to help improve America’s healthcare system.” No word about how, but as the Gov. is an Anti-Trumper, he apparently wants Obamacare fixed. I remind readers again, that the word  “bipartisanship” is a term used to camouflage Republican capitulation to the Democrats.

But, back to St. John of Ohio. He correctly said: “States serve as the best laboratories for democracy and Governors are leading on these vital issues while Washington plays politics.” Washington is politics John, no surprise there. So is every state run by politicians. It is a sad commentary that Pennsylvania’s politics is now controlled by unelected liberal Judges.

Following the entertainment industry example, Kasich accepted the Economic Patriots award, (never heard of it) from the Concord Coalition (never heard of them either), to challenge Washington to balance America’s budget to avoid the runaway debt and, he made The Hill’s “10 Governors Shaping the Future of Politics” list, whatever that means. Remember, Kasich came in 4th in the 2016 Republican primary field and, in his defeat, still tried to derail Donald Trump.

The Gov. recently submitted an op-ed to a German newspaper about America’s diminishing role in the world (thanks Obama) at a Security Conference he was to attend in Munich, but the murders of two Ohio policemen demanding his presence, changed his plans. Finally, St. John, the governor, is working hard on his CV.  In April he will participate in a panel discussion in New Hampshire on America’s faults caused by Trump, and he has accepted an invitation to deliver the commencement address to graduates of the Harvard Kennedy School on 23 May 2018. St. John is on a roll and desperately wants to restore the elite political establishment machine that Donald Trump is dismantling. For Kasich, it may already be too late. America will forever be assailed by barbarians from without and by termites from within. Good luck John!

Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!
