The University of North Georgia Dahlonega Campus has posted an active case to their records for criminal homicide as of Wednesday morning.
With many concerned about the homicide report, the UNG Office of University Relations sent a clarifying email to students, faculty and staff and issued the following statement.
“UNG’s Office of Public Safety has received a report of an alleged sexual assault and homicide that occurred in 2017, not on a UNG campus. Public Safety is assisting an external law enforcement agency with an investigation of allegations. There is no immediate threat to safety for the university community. In accordance with Clery Act protocols, a report of the alleged incident has been included in UNG’s Crime Log.”
The case is active and the report details for the alleged incident are Murder and Non-negligent Manslaughter.

This is a developing story.
