Dawson Co. Planning Commission to hear rezoning requests Tuesday

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – The Dawson County Planning Commission will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Dawson County Government Center.

Don and Bonnie Hunt have requested a variance from the Land Use Resolution for their residence located at 52 Ruby Lane which is zoned Vacation Cottage Restricted (VCR). The request is to reduce the side building setbacks from 10 feet to 2 feet on the left and right sides of their property for a new residence to be constructed.

John and Rachel Senter have made a request for a rezoning subject to county commission approval. They are seeking to down zone the current zoning of Ratcliff Drive from Residential Sub-Rural Manufactured/Moved (RSRMM) to Residential Agricultural/Residential Exurban (RA) for the purpose of building a barn on their property prior to their primary residence.

Nick Patel has made a request to vary from the Land Use Resolution , Article IV, Section 402.C.2 to build a canopy that would be 20 feet from the front property line instead of the required 60 feet. The property is located at 1128 Harmony Church Road and is zoned Commercial Community Business (CCB).
