Hunt and Learn Programs Teach the Basics, Provide Hands On Opportunities

SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (July 28, 2016) – Deer, squirrel, turkey, quail, rabbit – all hunt-able species in Georgia. But, do you know how to hunt them? If you are new to hunting or you have a young person in your home that has expressed an interest in hunting, we have a great weekend planned for you at a Georgia Hunt and Learn program!

The Georgia Hunt and Learn programs provide exceptional instruction for children, ages 10-17, and a supervisor from qualified teachers who will equip you with the knowledge you need to be successful in the woods or in the field. These programs, taking place over a weekend, are held on a Georgia wildlife management area (WMA).

Classes include everything from the basics to learning how to care for harvested game. Hunter education classes are offered for anyone that has not yet completed the course. The weekend additionally provides the opportunity for three guided hunts. Adults and children (16 and older) must possess current hunting licenses.

What Programs are Available and How Do I Apply?
Registration for all Hunt and Learns opens Aug. 1, 2016 at 9 a.m. At that time, please call 770-784-3059. Those applying for a quota hunt and learn will be put on the quota list. Names will be drawn one month in advance of those hunt weekends. Other hunts, not designated as quota, are first come, first served.
