Gregory Paul Lawler Executed This Evening for Murder

ATLANTA, GA- The lawfully ordered execution of Gregory Paul Lawler for the 1997 murder of Atlanta police officer John Sowa was carried out this evening  at 11:49 pm at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Center in Jackson, Georgia. The sentence was carried out after the United States Supreme Court denied Lawler’s request for a stay of execution.
