Georgia DOT wants your two cents in the study of Holly Springs Drive extension in Cherokee County

HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. – A public information open house to discuss the Georgia DOT Holly Springs Industrial Drive Extension study in Cherokee County is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 4 until 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Holly Springs Depot, located at 164 Hickory Road in the city of Holly Springs, Georgia.

Cherokee County’s residents interested in learning more about the proposed study and subsequent project are encouraged to attend the meeting and express their thoughts and preferences.

“We would like to hear the viewpoints and concerns of all area residents,” says DeWayne Comer, district engineer at the Georgia DOT office in Cartersville.

This public information open house for the scoping study project will provide an opportunity to identify the environmental resources and a concept for the construction of the Industrial Connector intended to mitigate congestion issues in downtown Holly Springs near the intersection of Hickory Road and Holly Springs Parkway, improve operation, and enhance safety in the area.
