PRESS RELEASE – On May 31, 2023, deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident on GA-15 and Betty’s Creek Road and found the vehicle unoccupied.
Suspected narcotics were located in the vehicle prompting an investigation. During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered that the occupants of the wrecked vehicle were staying at a hotel in Dillard, Georgia.
During a search for the occupants, deputies located additional narcotics, drug paraphernalia, two firearms (one being reported stolen), and magazines that were thrown behind a structure.
Total drugs seized were approximately 40 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 322 grams of Cocaine, 10 grams crack cocaine. A total street value of the drugs is $36,400.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office has taken warrants following individuals on charges of Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule II, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Crime, Theft by Receiving, False Statements, and Traffic related offenses.
