Flowery Branch Woman Charged With Arson, Insurance Fraud After House Fire

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — A Hall County woman is facing multiple charges after investigators say she deliberately set fire to her home last month and later attempted to profit from an insurance claim.

Jamie Renee Millsap, 54, of Flowery Branch, was arrested September 19 following a joint investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the blaze broke out just after 4 a.m. on August 29 at a single-story residence on the 6200 block of Saddlehorse Drive. Fire crews arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames. No one was inside the home at the time, but the building was declared a total loss.

Investigators allege Millsap intentionally set the fire and then filed fraudulent insurance claims in an effort to collect money. She now faces charges of first-degree arson, fraudulent insurance claims, and reckless conduct.

The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office credited the use of specialized equipment and a K-9, Apollo, with helping gather evidence at the scene. Officials said the case involved a coordinated effort between fire investigators and sheriff’s deputies.

Millsap was booked into the Hall County Jail. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether bond was set.

The case remains under investigation as officials work to determine the full extent of the damage and the potential financial impact of the alleged fraud.
