Wanted Fugitive Captured Following Tip

PRESS RELEASE – Yesterday, January 7, 2026, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) conducted a follow-up investigation at a residence on Waters Edge Drive in Martin, Ga. During the investigation, CSU deputies located and arrested wanted fugitive Tracy Holbrook, 58 of Carnesville.

Holbrook was wanted by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office after successfully fleeing SCSO deputies in a vehicle pursuit in September of 2024. On January 6, 2026, the SCSO received an anonymous tip through the SCSO mobile app regarding his possible whereabouts.

At approximately 5:35 p.m. on January 7, 2026, the CSU located Holbrook beneath a truck at a property on Waters Edge Drive. He was arrested and transported to the Stephens County Jail without incident.

Holbrook was wanted out of Stephens County on the following charges: two counts of Illegal Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, Prescription Drugs Not in Their Original Containers, Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement, Failure to Maintain Lane, Speeding in Excess of State and Zone Speed Limits, and Removing or Affixing License Plate with Intent to Conceal or Misrepresent. During the investigation, CSU deputies discovered a firearm near Holbrook. He has also been charged with Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon.

Holbrook is also wanted out of Franklin County, Ga., for similar charges. He remains in the Stephens County Jail pending a bond hearing with a magistrate court judge.
