Two Vehicle Crash in Catoosa County Under Investigation

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA. – On Nov. 29, a two-vehicle crash occurred in Catoosa County and according to the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, “[The] results are preliminary as this crash is still under investigation”.

GSP Public Information Office released the following statement regarding the incident:

On November 29, at approximately 8:45 PM, GSP Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on GA-2 (2847 Battlefield Parkway) in Catoosa County.

The investigation determined that a Harley motorcycle was hit in the rear at a high rate of speed by a pickup truck, possibly a dark in color Ford F-250.

After impact, the driver of the truck left the scene in the truck. The identity of the truck driver is unknown at this time.

The motorcycle rider, 51-year-old Franklin Coyne, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. GSP SCRT Troop A is assisting with the investigation.
