Two Arrested in Murray County for Criminal Attempt to Commit Child Molestation

MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. -The Murray County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnathan Eastridge and Jessica Thomas of 342 Deep Woods Dr in Chatsworth, Ga for Criminal Attempt to Commit Child Molestation, Sexual Exploitation of Minors, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Related objects.
On March 12, 2025, a detective with the Murray County Sheriff’s Office received information from a Detective with the Floyd County Police Department that two individuals in Murray County were attempting to meet a 14-year-old female for sexual purposes.
This information was gathered from a UC chat operation being conducted by the detective with the Floyd County Police Department.
Upon receiving this information, a meeting was scheduled between the suspects and the perceived child.
Mr. Eastridge travelled to the location to pick up the child and was apprehended.
Other investigators travelled to the residence to arrest Ms. Thomas due to her direct involvement in the crime.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the individuals were in possession of additional child exploitative material.
A search warrant was executed at 342 Deep Woods Dr which yielded several devices containing child sexual abuse material and items related to the sexual abuse of children.
