The FYN Sports North Georgia Player Of The Year is Fannin County’s Corbin Davenport.
Davenport had 2,210 All Purpose Yards this season for the Fannin County Rebels who finished the season in the 2nd Round of the GHSA State Playoffs. It was just the 4th time in School history that Fannin County advanced to the 2nd Round dating back to 1976.
If you followed Fannin County Football the last 2 seasons, you saw #8 all over the field. In Fact, the only position Davenport didn’t play was on the offensive and defensive line.
Corbin Davenport scored 29 Touchdowns this season to go with his 2,210 All Purpose Yards. He had 1 Passing Touchdown, 18 Rushing Touchdowns, and 10 Receiving Touchdowns. Davenport also contributed on the defensive side of the football for Fannin County. The Senior had 48 Total Tackles, 9 Tackles For Loss, 1 Pass Deflection and 1 Forced Fumble.
Davenport also filled in on some punting duties when Senior Jack Kanter was sidelined due to an injury. Corbin had 12 Punts for 381 Yards averaging 31.8 Yards Per Punt.
Currently, Corbin is finishing up his high school career on the Wrestling mat for the Fannin County Rebels Wrestling Team. Davenport is a 2-time State Runner Up and eyeing that coved Individual State Championship. Corbin was a part of the 2021 Fannin Wrestling Team that won the GHSA AA Traditional State Championship. His current record on the mat is 66-23, and he will look to finish his career with an individual state title after the new year.
