STEPHENS COUNTY, GA — Six local nonprofit organizations received a financial boost this week thanks to the success of the 2nd Annual Cops vs. Kids Charity Shoot-Off, hosted in June by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Stephens County 4-H Rifle Team.

Sheriff Rusty Fulbright, joined by Bruce Grant of the 4-H Rifle Team, presented $1,000 checks to each of the organizations during a check presentation ceremony. The funds were raised through community donations and support from local businesses during the charity event.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this cause,” Sheriff Fulbright said. “Because of your generosity, we were able to raise more than $6,000 for organizations that directly benefit the youth and families of Stephens County.”

The following organizations received donations:

  • Stephens County High School JROTC Raiders, represented by Chief Edward Luttrell and Assistant Principal Michael Ritcey. The JROTC program also honored the Sheriff’s Office and 4-H team with a certificate of appreciation.
  • Everlasting Ministries, represented by Pam Williams.
  • Steadfast Family Farm, represented by Tod and Deana Bethea.
  • Toccoa Life Family Resource Center, represented by William Brothers.
  • Stephens County School System Department of Exceptional Children, represented by Director Brandy Stacy and Superintendent Connie Franklin.
  • Toccoa Little League, represented by Doug McCollum.

Each organization plays a vital role in supporting local children, families, and individuals in need across the county.

“This event is more than just a fundraiser,” Fulbright added. “It’s about bringing our community together and recognizing the people and programs making a difference every day.”

Organizers say they plan to continue the charity shoot-off as an annual tradition, with hopes of expanding its impact in the years to come.
